Good afternoon everyone, I just woke up and I thought of something I haven’t thought of in years - my bucket list. Before I ramble on about my list, I wanted to share some reasons as to why you should make a bucket list (if you don’t already have one).

First things first, if you are not quite sure what a bucket list is, it is basically a list of goals that you would like to reach before you die. For example, some people may want to someday travel around the world, or meet their favorite celebrity, or go skydiving. These are all possible and, for the most part, realistic goals that could be met, however you can get creative with your list.

A bucket list consists of short term and even long term goals. When it comes to creating a bucket list for yourself, the sky's the limit. It’s important to take time for things you enjoy in life—doing things you enjoy can make you feel energized and even more relaxed at the same time. Here are a few reasons why I think you should set up your very own bucket list.

Organizing & Remembering your Goals

If you are like me, then you would find a bucket list pretty useful in organizing your short and long term goals. Keeping record of the things you want to accomplish in life can help you remember what makes you happy. These goals we have can help us keep track of them as we plan them into our lives and check them off upon completion.

Unlock your Creativity

Ask yourself: What do I want to do at least once in my life? This question can get your creative juices flowing. For example, I know it’s probably super common, but I have always wanted to go skydiving ever since I was a child. To experience the feeling being so high up in the air among the clouds, words cannot express the heart pumping adrenaline that awaits. Crazy, right? But it is exactly the kind of insane and fun that I want to experience one day.

Make Life Memorable

The final reason why you should think about creating a bucket list is to make memories. Life is short and death is inevitable. As cheesy as it may sound, you do only live once, so why not live your life the way you want to and make memories along the way. According to InspirationFeed, “To live a meaningful or memorable life doesn’t mean that you did everything you wanted to do. Even achieving a small short-term goal will give you a sense of satisfaction. That feeling alone is your initial reward for your achievement”. I couldn’t agree more. By creating a bucket list, you can keep track of your accomplishments and check off your experiences as you collect them.

To wrap things up because I am on a tight schedule, setting up a bucket list can help you stay in touch with your inner child-self. In other words, “real life” can be boring or make you feel like you are stuck doing the same thing over and over. However, with a bucket list, you can let loose and have fun fulfilling your personal goals and dreams - no matter how silly or crazy they may be.
