Godzilla vs Kong

“Godzilla vs Kong” was released March 31, 2021. It was released in theaters and is streaming only on HBO Max. The film was directed by Adam Wingard. It is a sequel to “Kong: Skull Island” (2017) and “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” (2019).

The film is about Kong trying to find his way home with an orphan named Jia. They stumble into Godzilla as he destructs the world around him. This causes Kong and Godzilla to confront each other causing a force never seen before. This creates even more questions about the mystery that lies within the planet.

“Godzilla vs Kong” moved to the top of the box office this weekend with sales rising $13.4 million. In box office sales all together the film has made $69.5 million. This a huge outcome considering all the COVID restrictions. It is now the top-grossing film that has been released during a pandemic.

The CEO of Legendary Entertainment Josh Grode said he and the production company have many ideas for future films. The MonsterVerse is the cinematic universe where they plan to cross over all the giant movie monsters at some point or another. “Godzilla” (2014) was what began the universe and was followed by “Kong: Skull Island” (2017), “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” (2019), and “Godzilla vs Kong”.

“Godzilla vs Kong” was released in theaters and on HBO Max as a part of WarnerMedia’s new plan to release every single Warner Bros releasing in 2021. These films are available to stream for 31 days.
