Yesterday afternoon, the internet was all buzzed when we found out that Matthew McConaughey said he would consider a future run for the Texas governor’s office. Well, it was more like he said he wouldn’t not consider running for governor. The thought of a potential 2022 campaign. Can you even imagine how entertaining. McConaughey already embodies what it truly means to be a Texan. And what about his campaign slogan? It’s hard to imagine how it could be anything other than “Texas We Gone Be Alright, Alright, Alright” (if he uses that you heard it first on the Cultureverse).

Asked if he would consider the job, he told The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he said "It's something I’m giving consideration. Absolutely. What an honorable thing to even be able to consider. No further than that right now, sir.” Meanwhile, Matthew previously called on Texas to come together and help each other after the state was affected by severe weather and winter storms last month.

"In Texas, we're used to a hurricane, a tornado, a drought, heat, but not a freeze. It's something we weren't prepared for. One of the great things about Texas is that it's in our spirit to pull our bootstraps up and go, let’s deal. We like to help ourselves. And we need to all help each other,” he said. This Sunday March 21st, McConaughey will host the benefit concert "We're Texas," with performances from Kelly Clarkson, Post Malone, Khalid, George Strait, Willie Nelson, Gary Clark Jr. and many more. Among those making appearances will be Jamie Foxx, Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez and Woody Harrelson. The event, which will stream on YouTube, will benefit McConaughey's "Just Keep Livin" relief fund.
